Originally from the Central Africa Republic and holder of a semi-professional Master's degree in Private Law, Axelle have acquired more than sixteen years of professional experience in the humanitarian field --holding positions such as program coordinator, project manager and the head of the Development and Community Law Department.
Passionate about the issues of social safeguards and respect for human rights in conservation made her join the conservation field in 2021, working as the Coordinator of the Accompaniment of Indigenous Peoples and the Chief of the Development and Community Rights Department in the Dzanga - Sangha Protected Areas, also working in the Sangha Trinational, in the Congo Basin. She started working for the Odzala-Kokoua-Lossi Foundation in 2024 as the Safeguards Manager.
She believes human beings must be at the heart of conservation, improving the social well-being of indigenous populations and local communities in areas where we operate within the standards of environmental and social safeguards.
