Ruth Westrick

Ruth studied tourism in her native Switzerland and has since used every opportunity to discover often less well-trodden paths on various continents. She has experience in the tourism industry, working in the Philippines and in various management roles for an established tour operator in Switzerland. In 2016 she made her dream of living in the African wilderness reality. She managed a bush camp and luxury safari camps in two of Zamba’s national parks. Covid made her return to Switzerland, where she got the chance to work for a software company. She also began and has since completed a Master of Science in Business Administration with a major in sustainability and circular economy. Because she loves being in the wilderness, far from the hustle and bustle of cities, she welcomed the opportunity to work as Commercial Manager for African Parks in Garamba National Park, DRC from 2023. Since 2025 she is working as Tourism and Commercial Manager of Iona National Park applying her many years of experience to this stunning park.
