Philip R. Welp was born in Harare, Zimbabwe and lived briefly in Europe before moving to the United States. His interest for business developed quickly through traveling and living abroad for many years. He attended the International School of Geneva, Switzerland where he studied with students from 80 countries, many involved with the United Nations. He also studied in Antwerp, Belgium before moving to Florence, Italy and then finally to San Diego. Attending the University of San Diego, he received an undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 1987. In 1989, he received 2 graduate degrees, a Master of International Business and Master of Business Administration.
He is very passionate about conservation and his daughter Emily has been involved in this space since for the last 10 years since she graduated university, also working for Conservation International as an example. He has been to Africa many times and 6 continents exploring and helping to create awareness for climate, sustainability and biodiversity.
Mr. Welp lives in Scottsdale, Az with his wife, Pamela, and they have 2 children Cole (26 yrs old) and Emily (28yrs. old) He enjoys cycling, skiing, reading, traveling, and exercising.
