Grounded in fieldwork with a high appreciation of how data can inform conservation and management decisions, Megan has extensive experience in over a decade of wildlife research and conservation throughout Africa. Megan has conducted conservation work and managed multinational teams in a variety of countries including Botswana, Ethiopia, Chad, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Before joining African Parks, Megan completed her PhD in Zoology from Stellenbosch University focusing on the ecology and communication of African wild dogs, including innovative studies on scent-marking behaviour. In 2024 Megan joined the South Sudan team as Conservation Manager for Boma and Badingilo National Parks, where she is dedicated to fostering collaborative local partnerships to understand the complex ecological system, and promote sustainable land use and biodiversity preservation in one of South Sudan's most critical ecosystems.
