Luc Tédonzong is a conservation scientist with over 13 years of impact in wildlife conservation, spatial ecology, and complex project delivery across Central and West Africa, with a strong focus on Cameroon and Liberia. He earned a PhD in Biology in 2019 from Ghent University, Belgium, specializing in Spatial Ecology and Conservation, where his research examined ecological and human drivers shaping the distribution and abundance of western lowland gorillas and central chimpanzees around Cameroon’s Dja Faunal Reserve.

Prior to joining African Parks, he served as Africa Conservation Scientist, supporting national experts in Senegal, the DRC, Mauritania, and Tanzania to calibrate the Species Threat Abatement and Restoration (STAR) metric to promote science-based conservation decision-making. He leverages advanced GIS and data science to drive evidence based decisions, while building lasting capacity through mentorship and contributing extensively to high impact scientific publications..
