Born in France, Fily joined the army at the age of 17 and served for around ten years as a military diver. After leaving the armed forces, he worked in the civilian sector as a scuba diving instructor and professional diver, spending several years on Réunion Island. He later spent nearly a decade working in conflict zones for private companies, focusing on the protection of people and assets, training, and observation missions.
Motivated by a long-standing commitment to anti-poaching efforts, he joined African Parks in 2023 for a two-year assignment in Ennedi National Park, Chad. As a Law Enforcement Mentor at Odzala, Fily Kanté brings strong operational experience, discipline, and extensive field expertise to support conservation law enforcement teams
