Issifou Sambo Alou

Issifou Sambo Alou is a Beninese agricultural engineer specialising in the sociology of natural resources with over 14 years of experience in community development, socio-economic studies in rural areas, and the prevention and management of conflicts related to the use of natural resources. He gained this experience working for local and international NGOs, including more than six years as Community Development Manager for the W-Benin National Park (PNW) managed by African Parks. At PNW-Benin, he participated in the feasibility study for the rehabilitation of W Park, then set up the community team and led various community activities during the Priority Intervention Plan (PIP) and after the management delegation contract. Motivated by environmental conservation for future generations and a particular interest in the interaction between pastoral and agricultural communities. He joined the Zakouma team in December 2025 as Community Development Manager.
