Born in Zambia’s Muchinga Province, Mpika, close to North Luangwa National Park, He became interested in wildlife conservation at an early age. Francis has a Bachelor’s degree from the Copperbelt University, and has experience in microfinance while working for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Community-Based Natural Resources Management (CBNRM) from 2015 to 2022 while working with Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS). Francis has over the years attended numerous training courses in Zambia, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa and Germany that helped him excel in project management, M&E, microfinance, and community conservation work. Francis’ role is to help build governance and develop community relations with the Greater Kafue Ecosystems CRBs and communities. His belief is that “an organized effort by communities will help Zambia and the world at large change negative conservation policies, which is extremely critical for the future of conservation, natural resource management and climate change while focusing on community development.”
