Emma Impink is a practitioner focused on understanding and supporting the intersection between people, wildlife and land use for human and natural wellbeing. Emma has worked in eastern Africa for the last 14 years spanning smallholder agriculture, monitoring and evaluation, human-elephant coexistence, livelihood support, community-led planning, strategic leadership and capacity strengthening in Tanzania, Kenya, DRC, Mozambique, Burundi and Rwanda. She was most recently the Senior Director of Programs for Legado, an international NGO focused on supporting community-led action in areas of high biodiversity. She sees working in South Sudan as a huge opportunity to put communities at the heart of the protection and stewardship of this critically important landscape. She is based in Tanzania, where she has lived since 2012.
