Eliezer Mermoz Bizon

Graduated in Environment and Sustainable Development, Mermoz joined African Parks in July 2022 as a consultant, responsible for developing the Territorial Development Master Plan (SDAT, in French) for the eastern region of the Central African Republic. Thanks to his expertise and in-depth knowledge of the field, he was appointed Territorial Development Manager in January 2023, before being promoted to Community Development Manager in December 2024.

Passionate about community-based natural resource management and with solid experience in land-use planning and sustainable development, Mermoz's career has also included work on environmental and social impact assessments with 2EC (2020), as well as an internship with the Forest Investment Programme in Burkina Faso, where he further deepened his skills. Attentive to community voices, he aims to promote a participatory approach to conservation and sustainable development—one that emphasizes population inclusion and ecosystem preservation.
