Clarisse UMUGWANEZA

Clarisse is a dynamic and results-driven professional with extensive experience in tourism and hospitality, excelling in luxury service delivery, marketing, and sales management. She has a proven track record in optimizing budgets and enhancing customer satisfaction through strategic planning and project execution. Clarisse holds a master’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality from Mount Kenya University.

She has worked with competitive tour operators as an operations Manager, specializing in travel and tour planning. She later joined African Parks in Akagera National Park as Assistant Lodge Manager at Ruzizi Tented Lodge in 2021. After two years, she was promoted to Lodge Manager, where she contributed to service excellence, eco-lodge conservation efforts, community training, and revenue generation, while continuously learning and embracing the African Parks philosophy. This role significantly strengthened her leadership skills.

Inspired by her experience and passion for conservation-driven tourism, she applied to become the Commercial Development Manager of Nyungwe National Park starting in 2025. Clarisse is highly passionate about excellence and is strongly result-oriented, with key strengths in revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction, and team development.
