It is with deep sadness that African Parks confirms a fatal crash of a light surveillance aircraft in Zakouma National Park, Chad.

The incident happened this morning, near the village of Goz Djarat, on the boundary of Zakouma National Park during a rhino monitoring flight. Both the pilot and one other African Parks staff member did not survive.

The Chadian Government, civil aviation and families of the deceased have been informed and investigations into the cause of the accident are currently underway.

Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the deceased at this difficult time.
