On August 18th 2011, the governments of the republics of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe signed a treaty to establish the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA).
At 444,000km2, roughly the size of Sweden, this will be the world’s largest conservation area. Its creation will allow the movement of wildlife across international boundaries, thereby improving dispersal opportunities and effectively their chance of survival. Read more about the KAZA TFCA.
