African Parks pays tribute to Ron Ulrich, Former Chair of African Parks Foundation of America
It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Ron Ulrich, former Chair of the African Parks Foundation of America (APFA) and devoted conservationist, on February 8th. Ron's lifelong passion for wildlife and unwavering commitment to conservation have left a remarkable legacy for us all at African Parks.
Ron was more than a passionate advocate; he was one of the warmest and kindest people I have ever met. He championed our US operations and laid the foundation for what it is today.
From 2012 to January 2023, Ron played an instrumental role in advancing APFA's mission. His leadership was pivotal in expanding the Foundation's reach and impact. He personally supported numerous initiatives and cultivated a robust network of board members and strategic partners. His strong belief in effective conservation governance drove significant support for anti-poaching efforts, a cornerstone of his lasting contributions.
Ron was a dedicated, strategic, and tireless champion for nature who instilled a deep commitment to professionalism that continues to shape APFA today. His work has made an indelible mark on conservation efforts across Africa and beyond.
Our thoughts are with his wife Christie, and their sons Benner, Adrian, Collier and their families during this difficult time.
