Wim is an independent interim manager, non-executive and coach with a specific focus on Africa and conservation. In 2018 and 2019, he was the interim Chief Operations Officer of African Parks and at this moment he supports(part-time) African Parks with the development of collaboration strategies with corporates, aimed at carbon and biodiversity off-sets. He also chairs the board of African Parks Zambia Ltd. (Liuwa Plains National Park) and the Bangweulu Wetlands Management Board. Wim is the Chairperson of the Board of the Foundation for Rural Energy Services (www.fres.nl). FRES enables households and small enterprises in Africa access to safe, healthy and affordable solar energy and is managing four operating companies in Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Mali and Uganda. He is furthermore an independent non-executive director at OMNIA Holdings Limited(www.omnia.co.za), a JSE listed diversified chemicals Group, focused on agriculture and mining and facilitates personal and team development trails in the African bush and in European wilderness areas for individuals and -corporate -groups. Prior to this he combined 35 years of industry and strategic management consulting experience. Since 2007 he has been active on the African continent. He is a true believer in the opportunities the continent has to offer in the decades to come, and is passionate about the ability of corporations and society to achieve this sustainably with a keen eye on an optimum of community and economic development and nature conservation.Until December 2017, he was heading Kearney's (www.kearney.com) expansion in Africa and fulfilled various other leadership roles within the firm at local,regional and global level.
