Isidore Ogoudje Amahowe is a Beninese forestry and conservation professional with 22 years of experience in natural resources management, protected areas management, and environmental policy across West Africa.
He holds a PhD in Forestry, as well as advanced degrees in wildlife population analysis, protected areas management, environmental sciences, and sociology–anthropology. His multidisciplinary background combines strong scientific expertise with a deep understanding of social dynamics, governance systems, and policy processes related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
Isidore has held senior technical and leadership roles with international and regional institutions, including Blue Ventures Conservation, RAMPAO, IUCN, UNOPS, and national forestry administrations. His experience spans marine, coastal, and terrestrial ecosystems, with a particular focus on transboundary conservation, wildlife crime prevention, community-based conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable fisheries.
He has led multi-country and multi-donor programmes and brings strong expertise in strategic partnerships, resource mobilization, programme management, monitoring and evaluation, and institutional capacity building. Prior to joining African Parks Network, Isidore served as Head of the Partnerships Network for West Africa, where he supported the expansion of community-based conservation initiatives across marine and coastal ecosystems.
