Jean-Michel Bretel

Jean-Michel is an economist by training, specializing in agricultural and rural economics. With over 30 years of professional experience, he has acquired expertise in farming, rural, and territorial development, focusing on environmental, social, and economic issues, which are the pillars of sustainable development. Having worked in France and sub-Saharan Africa (where he spent more than half his career), in 2025, he joined the African Parks team at Garamba National Park as Community Manager. Particularly sensitive to ecosystem preservation issues, he is a fervent conservation advocate, mainly through the involvement of village communities.
