Raised in Kenya, Ian Craig converted his 62,000-acre family cattle ranch establishing it as the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. The Conservancy has become a model of community and wildlife conservation, protecting endangered species and promoting the development of neighbouring communities.
He is a founding board member of both Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust and Il Ngwesi Group Ranch, and served as Executive Director of the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy before becoming a founding member of the Northern Rangelands Trust in 2004, an umbrella body that supports community conservancies across northern and eastern Kenya. Ian has been a member of the board of Directors of Akagera Management Company since 2015.
