Florington Aseervatham

Country representative (South Sudan)

Regional Management

With over 23 years of international and multicultural experience across Africa and Asia, I am a dedicated humanitarian and conservation leader committed to advancing peace, protection, sustainable development, and environmental stewardship in some of the world’s most challenging contexts. I have held senior leadership positions, including Head of Delegation, Head of Mission, Country Director and Deputy Country Director with renowned international NGOs, leading large-scale humanitarian, development, wildlife conservation, and climate-resilient programs across Nigeria, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

My professional background combines humanitarian operations, conflict mitigation, health and nutrition, WASH, child protection, GBV prevention, peacebuilding, and wildlife conservation with strong expertise in logistics, financial oversight, and strategic team leadership. I focus on developing context-specific strategies that integrate community engagement, biodiversity protection, climate resilience, risk management, and sustainable impact. I have successfully led missions in volatile environments, managed multi-million-dollar portfolios, and built strong partnerships with major donors including USAID-BHA, ECHO, UN agencies, the EU, FCDO, the Dutch Government, SDC, SV, UK-Aid, and DRA.

An advocate for localisation, I believe in empowering communities and local institutions to lead in humanitarian response, conservation, and resilience-building. My work reflects a commitment to rights-based programming, gender equality, climate adaptation, and conflict-sensitive approaches rooted in values of collaboration, accountability, and ethical leadership.
