20 Years of Garamba National Park

In 2005, the Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature (ICCN) and African Parks began a partnership to conserve Garamba National Park, one of Africa's oldest protected areas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Together, over two decades, this partnership has supported meaningful change: wildlife populations are recovering, communities are building new livelihoods, and rhino have returned to Garamba for the first time in nearly 20 years. In 2025, ICCN and African Parks renewed their agreement, marking 20 years of trust, collaboration, and shared vision for Garamba's future.
