Mahamat Hamdan is a dedicated conservation professional with over eight years of experience in law enforcement, judicial follow-up, and intelligence coordination within the Greater Zakouma Ecosystem (GZE) in Chad. With a background in project administration and management, Hamdan plays a central role in securing the integrity of Zakouma National Park and its surrounding reserves.
As Head of Intelligence and Legal Affairs, Hamdan leads efforts to gather, analyze, and operationalize intelligence to combat wildlife crime. He liaises closely with judicial authorities, oversees legal processes against offenders, and ensures the proper handling of intelligence products to support informed decision-making. His work is instrumental in facilitating investigations and prosecutions, promoting rule of law in conservation, and upholding human rights standards.
Hamdan’s commitment to conservation has been recognized with commendations from African Parks and local authorities. His expertise includes data management (GeoSuite), community conflict documentation, and training on wildlife crime scene handling and judicial procedures. He continues to strengthen the park’s operational strategy by integrating law enforcement, community development, and biodiversity protection into a unified approach.
