Born in Lubango, Angola during the fifties, Alex completed a General Mechanics Diploma at EICAP (Lubango) and later obtained a Survey Diploma from CEP in Lisbon. His career took him across numerous African countries, primarily within the SADC region, where he contributed to major projects for prominent South African and international companies in construction, extraction, and transformation. Despite his extensive travels, his upbringing amidst the landscapes of IONA and other Angolan Parks instilled in him a strong desire to return to Angola. This ambition materialized with the onset of peace and Angola's embrace of social, economic, and ecological progress. In January 2024, he assumed the role of Tourism Manager at Iona National Park.
