Thomas E. Kern (1953) holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Zürich and an MBA from INSEAD, France. Thomas served in the Swiss army for 30 years and retired as Colonel General Staff.

For the first 23 years of his professional career, Thomas worked in the retail sector, where he occupied different CEO positions within the Globus Group, a large Swiss department store group, of which he was CEO for 6 years. The last 7 years of his executive life, he was CEO of Zürich Airport.

Today, Thomas holds various non-executive positions in profit as well as non-profit institutions. He is passionate about (adventurous) travelling, photography and sports. Thomas and his family live in the Zurich area.
