Leon Lamprecht is currently employed as the African Parks Regional Operations Manager for the Southern Region. Leon started his career with African Parks in May 2011 as the Park Manager of the Odzala-Kokoua National Park in the Republic of Congo and also served as the General Manager for the Greater Zakouma Ecosystem in Chad, the African Parks Operational Support Manager and the Operations Manager for African Park’s portfolio of Francophone parks and Ethiopia. Having served in the South African Defense Force as an officer, Leon gained valuable experience that is currently being used in counter poaching strategy and operations. Leon’s passion for conservation and wildlife can be traced to his youth and the advantages of growing up in South Africa’s world-famous Kruger National Park where his father was a game ranger. Leon holds an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability from Cumbria University.
