Clemmie is a conservationist specialised in landscape level approaches to preservation, and the inclusion of communities into protected area management. She believes the future of conservation sits at the complex interface of people and nature. Following a masters in Forest and Nature Conservation she worked in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, on environmental education and the incorporation of communities into management of protected areas around orangutan release sites. In 2019 she moved back to her home country of Malawi to work for WeForest on forest landscape restoration around Mulanje Mountain, before joining African Parks in Bangweulu in 2022.
