Steeves Buckland holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and Conservation from the University of Bristol. Originally from Mauritius, Steeves brings 23 years of experience in conservation-related projects across seven countries: Mauritius, Reunion, India, Comoros, Madagascar, Guinea, and the DRC. His extensive involvement includes leadership in nature reserve and park management, habitat and species conservation, law enforcement, and sustainable livelihood activities. Additionally, he possesses substantial expertise in grant management, project proposal writing, and reporting on project outcomes for third-party and bilateral donors, including USAID, KfW, DFID, and SPF. In 2024, Steeves assumed the role of Conservation Manager at the Greater Zakouma Ecosystem within the African Parks Network in Chad.
