Trained as a natural scientist, Patience has published 56 peer-reviewed scientific papers in both terrestrial and aquatic fields since 2007. Most of her research work was conducted in Gonarezhou National Park and surrounding areas in the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area where she was the Resident Ecologist for six years. At a regional level, she coordinated the Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area from 2013 - 2016. Patience has written over 50 scientific reports and significantly contributed to the review and writing of Protected Area Management Plans in Zimbabwe. Patience is a Trustee for the Gonarezhou Conservation Trust supported by Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) and a serves on the board for Matuasdona Conservation Trust. Patience is also an active member of Zimbabwe' National Steering Committee for the administration and management of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Program, and related initiatives. She believes in the role of science, community empowerment and advocacy through young people in sound decision making to save our planet and to save wildlife the 21st century.
