A classic tented camp at the gateway to Majete Wildlife Reserve, Malawi
In a prime location, the lodge is set on the edge of a pristine waterhole that regularly attracts a wide variety of wildlife, including a family of elephants that often frequent the area. Within the reserve boundaries, the lodge is completely unfenced to give guests a unique experience in the natural surroundings. There are six tented chalets available – 3 super king/ twin, 1 luxury tent and 2 double tents. There are 2 family chalet - 1 double and 1 twin. The lodge does not accommodate children 3 and under. The camp is located in a big 5 reserve and children must be supervised at all time.
There is 1 main lounge and dining area with views to the bustling waterhole. There is also a bio swimming pool on site for guests use.
It’s best to explore Majete by vehicle which is on offer to Thawale guests. One can expect to have strong wildlife viewing, especially elephant sightings. In the summer months, the birding is excellent.
