Pierre-Armand graduated with a PhD in Tropical Geography in 2004, combining his studies with experience in the safari industry. For 15 years he worked as Consultant, and long term Technical Advisor in Conservation and Protected Areas management, mainly in Central and Western Africa. Pierre-Armand was appointed by African Parks in March 2016, initially as a consultant for the development of the Greater Zakouma Ecosystem and Ennedi Natural and Cultural Reserve mandates in Chad, and then later as the Regional Director for the Conservation / Development Unit. Pierre-Armand was appointed as the Regional Director of Operations in Chad in September 2018.
