Paul Telfer is the Director of International Conservation Communication and Public Relations for the Sabine Plattner African Charities (SPAC), and the Co-CEO for the Congo Basin for the Leadership for Conservation in Africa (LCA). Paul is a conservation biologist with nearly 30 years of experience in Central Africa and the Congo Basin. Paul earned his PhD in Physical Anthropology from New York University and has led conservation and research programs in Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Gabon, and the Republic of Congo. Paul managed the WCS-Congo program helping to establish new management structures in Congo’s protected areas and most recently helped pioneer tourism as a conservation tool in the region, transforming the conservation landscape in central Africa by creating a new model, partnering with government, conservation NGOs and private sector business.
