As the co-founder of the Rob and Melani Walton Foundation, Melani is a supporter of a number of philanthropic causes in the U.S. and internationally. In addition to her work with the Foundation, she has been a board member and in leadership positions with a broad range of organizations and supports research and innovation in education, the humanities, and conservation. She has been the recipient of a number of awards for her leadership.
Organizations where she is or has been dedicated include the Arizona Science Center, Phoenix Symphony, Phoenix Theatre, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Aspen Brain Institute, Barrow Neurological Foundation, Walton Sustainability Solutions Service at Arizona State University, The Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Mayo Clinic, Arizona Women’s Board, Arizona Foundation for Women, National Association of Professional Women, Arizona Women’s Forum, Dickinson State University, National Park Foundation, and the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library.
In addition to African Parks, her commitment to conservation is reflected in her work with The Nature Conservancy, the National Park Foundation, Conservation International, and a number of conservation organizations in the state of Arizona.
