Leon Lamprecht is currently working for African Parks Network as the Park Manager of Zakouma National Park in Chad. Leon is the former Park Manager of the Odzala-Kokoua National Park in the Republic of Congo where he served from May 2011 until December 2013 when he was appointment as Operations Manager for African Park’s portfolio of Francophone parks. As Park Manager in Odzala Leon was responsible for the management of men, equipment, funding and the implementation of plans for the park, under the auspices of Fondation Odzala-Kokoua and its Board. Having served in the South African Defense Force as an officer Leon gained valuable experience that is currently being used in counter-poaching strategy and operations. Leon’s passion for conservation and wildlife can be traced to his youth and the advantages of growing up in South Africa’s world-famous Kruger National Park where his father was a game ranger. Leon assumed the role of Park Manager of Zakouma in January 2017.
