John holds an MSc in Nature Conservation from Nelson Mandela University. John has a wealth of experience in protected area management, previously appointed in Governmental, Intergovernmental and the private industry. In 2021, he was selected as the recipient of a Top 100 Young African Conservation Leaders’ award. As the Director of Research and Development at Garamba, he is mainly responsible for overseeing conservation and research activities, the analysis of sub-regional conflict dynamics, investigation of criminal activities, maintenance of existing technologies and development of emerging technologies for the benefit of conservation.
