Captain Abdel-Aziz BELLO, of Beninese nationality is a specialist in natural resource and biodiversity management with 14 years of professional experience as a forest officer of Benin. Holder of an engineer diploma for planning and environmental protection in 2004 he then went on to complete his master's degree in natural resource and biodiversity management in 2014. In 2016, he undertook a doctoral thesis on the forest carbon balance of teak plantations. Following a position of Head of Regulation and Litigation at the Alibori Forest Inspectorate, he was appointed Director of the W Benin National Park in June 2018. He joined African Parks as part of the PIP and now acts in the role of Deputy Park Manager since October 2020.
