Abraham de Vries, hailing from South Africa, is a dedicated and experienced commercial pilot with a robust background in both aviation and technical maintenance, accumulating 13 years of aviation experience. Demonstrating versatility and proficiency across various roles and aircraft types, he holds a Commercial Pilot License and multiple ratings, underlining his comprehensive skill set and steadfast commitment to aviation safety and excellence.
Since September 2023, Abraham has been integral to the African Parks Network, initially serving as a surveillance pilot at Siniaka Minia National Park in Chad. In this capacity, he has played a crucial role in wildlife conservation, anti-poaching efforts, and habitat protection. Abraham executes tasks such as ferrying personnel and equipment, conducting meticulous aerial surveillance, and actively supporting diverse conservation initiatives.
Moreover, in April 2024, Abraham was appointed as the Regional Aviation Manager. In this role, he oversees all aviation operations within the region, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, optimizing flight schedules and, coordinating with Pilots and local authorities, and implementing strategic measures to enhance aviation standards and performance across the board.
